Ged- ert, 51, of Flat Rock, died of nat- ural causes at 10:30.a.m. Monday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Allen Park: He had been ill for several weeks and seri- ously so for two weeks. Family visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. John Negele of Faith Lutheran Church, Flat Rock, will officiate. Burial will be in Michi- gan Memorial Park with graveside services held under the auspices of the Downriver Veterans Honor Guard. Born June 11, 1944, in Dear- born, he was the son of Alfred and Ann (Hale) Gedert. He owned and operated PJ.’s Service Garage in Flat Rock. Prior to that, he was employed by McLouth Steel, Trenton, and Gen- eral Motors. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served for three years. A 1962 graduate of Flat Rock High School, he played football . and wrestled in high school. He is survived by his mother, Ann of Dearborn: two brothers, Bill of Tampa, Fla., and Edward of New Boston, and two sisters, Janette Lobianco of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kathleen Gedert of Dearborn. He was preceded in death by his father.
