FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. —
Douglas R. Geiermann, 57, of Fort
Lauderdale, formerly of Monroe,
died Aug. 11 in Florida after a long
battle with cancer.

Cremation has taken place,
under the direction of The
Memorial Store, Hollywood, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at
11 am. Thursday at St. Mary
Catholic Church, Monroe.
Monsignor John P. Zenz will offi-
ciate.

Born Dec. 15, 1942, he was the |
son of Roy and Marie (Strimbel)
Geiermann.

He worked as an engineer on
large yachts and as a marine car- |
penter and woodcarver. |

He served in the Army and was |
a former member of St. Mary |
Catholic Church, Monroe.

Surviving are his: mother of
Monroe; two sons, Eric (Stacy) and
Nicklos, both of Monroe;a daugh- |
ter, Sonya (Gabe) Verepej of |
Monroe; a brother, Tom of Bay
City;a sister, Nancy (Lloyd) Swert |

He was preceded in death by his |
father.
