:vening News, Thurs., Jan. 22, 1998 ee eee SERS ETAT AER TOT TE TE William Grant BELLEVILLE — William Grant, 77, of Belleville, formerly of Carleton, died Tuesday at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from noon to 9 p.m. Friday at the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton Chapel, Carleton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Burdette, chap- lin of University of Michigan Hos- pital, officiating. Burial will be at the Carleton Cemetery. Born June 28, 1920, in Detroit, he was the son of George and Lena (Baker) Grant. He married Betty J. Breitner in 1942 in Carleton. He was employed as a trades foreman at Detroit Metro Airport for 25 years before retiring in 1975. He served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II in Germany and throughout Europe. He was a member of the Car- leton Post 4093, Veterans of For- eign Wars, the Houghton Lake Elks Club and the Flat Rock Hiram Lodge 110, Free and Accepted Masons. Surviving are his wife; a son, Jeffrey of Charlotte; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Vicki) Bock of Belleville; a sister Julia McNab of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five grand- a and five great-grandchil- ren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, John and Charles.
