He retired in 1987, He was a member of Hiram — Lodge 110, Free and Accepted Masons, Shriners of Detroit, and Scottish Rite of Detroit. He is survived by three grand- sons, Leon Hopkins of Florida, Albert Gudith of Romulus and Ira Gudith of Lansing; three grand- daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Victoria) Connor of Brighton, Mrs. Mearl (Rebecca) Cady of New Boston, and Mary Ann Gudith of Flat Rock; and four great-grandchil-_! dren. He was preceded in death by a son, Alvin.
