of _.® ; eaten ene NEW BOSTON — Emil Hel- wig, 78, of New Boston died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Annapolis Hospital, Wayne. He had been ill for 10 years. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from 3 to 9 p.m. Fri- day at the Arthur Bobcean Funer- al Home, Carleton Chapel. He will lie in state Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Waltz, from noon until services at 1 p.m. The Rev. William Morris and the Rev. Dr. Dennis Berkesch will officiate. Burial will be in Michigan Memo- — rial Park, Flat Rock. Born Jany 19,1919, in New ° Boston, he was the son of August and Florentina Helwig. He was married on May 18, 1946, to Eleanor Federspiel at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, | Detroit. Mr. Helwig, who had attended Michigan State University, East Lansing, for an agricultural course, had owned a dairy farm and was a milkman for 35 years in the New Boston area. His wife also had delivered milk for the farm for 15 years. He worked as a custodian for Huron Public oe for 10 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of St. John’s | Lutheran Church in Waltz. Surviving are his wife and two | sisters, Emma Helwig of Royal Oak and Clara Pinter of Milan. - He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Church in Waltz or the Parkinson Foundation. is
