Pleasant, Michigan |] and St. Mary’s, Ohio passed away || Wednesday, July 30, 1997 at Mercy Bellbrook N.H. Rochester Hills. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at the Ford Chapel of the Allore Martenson Funeral Home, Rockwood. A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Services will be held Saturday with Prayers at 9:30 a.m. at the Ford Chapel and 10 am. Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rockwood. Father Thomas Sauter, will offici- ate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Rockwood. Herbert «was born November 7, 1904 in St. Mary’s, Ohio. He was the son of Frederick and Beulah (Sullivan) Hertenstein. He mar- ried Charlotte Gonyea on August 7, 1934 in Rockwood. He was employed as Manager of S.S. Kresge Stores in Columbus, Ohio, Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Tiffin, Ohio and Marion, Ohio. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish, Mt. Pleasant; Knight of Columbus Council #1297, Mt. Pleasant; Past Grand Knight; 4th Degree Knights of Columbus T. J. O’Connor Assembly since 1943; State Board of Boy Scouts, Tiffin Ohio; Chamber of Commerce, Marion and_ Tiffin, Ohio: the Marion and_ Tiffin; Ohio Lions Club for 25 years and Past President; Parish — Council-St. Joseph Parish Tiffin, Ohio and St. Mary’s Parish - Marion, Ohio. He is. survived by his wife, Charlotte; two sons, William of Troy, Michigan and H. Charles of Springboro, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Bolar of Cocoa, Florida; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Herbert was: preceded in death by his parents; a — daughter, Dolores Ruelle and two sisters, Hilda Williams and Martha Solomon, Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan.
