Hoeft, 79, of Fort Myers, formerly of Flat Rock, died Thursday at Hope Hospice House. : Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Arthur Bobcean Funeral, Flat Rock, where a prayer service will be held at 7. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. : Born Dec. 13, 1920, in Flat Rock, he was the son of Arthur H. and Edith E. (Watson) Hoeft. He mar- ried Berneta Turner Aug. 8, 1941, in Napoleon, Ohio. An engineer for Mobil Oil Co., he retired in 1982. While in the Navy, he served on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific.. He was a member of Fort Myers Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars; . Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; Seven Lakes Golf Club, and Indian River River Golf Club, He had lived in Flat Rock for more than 30 years. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Diane M. Varisto of Southfield, Mrs. Glen (Glee E.) Firth of Birmingham and Mrs. Chuck (Michele K.) Jeffery of Grosse Ile; two sisters, Leona Morris of Southgate and Shirley Fossett of Flat Rock, and four grandchildren. ‘ He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orrin and Clarence.
