Hoerl, 87, of Carleton, a lifelong resident of Ash Township, died of natural causes at 11:26 a.m. Fri- day in the Frenchtown Nursing Care Center, where he had lived for the past two years. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Carleton Chapel of the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel with the Rev. William L. Morris, pas- tor of St. John Lutheran Church, Waltz, officiating. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock. Born Sept. 20, 1908, in Ash Township, he was the son of Fred A. and Amanda (Damaschke) Hoerl. He was employed for 38 years as a Steel roller for Great Lakes Steel in Ecorse, retiring in 1973. He graduated from Carleton High School in 1927. He also was a life. member of St. John’s Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. He is survived by a brother, Clarence of Newport. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter, and a sister, Winifred Rinne.
