Lek, rer 1h, 194% Frederick J. Hoffman Aug. 31, 1940-Dec. 14, 1998 MIKADO — Frederick J. Hoff- man, 58, of Mikado, formerly of Newport, died Monday in Ann Arbor. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 9° p.m. Thursday at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln Park, where ser- vices will be held at 11 a.m. Fri- day. The Rev. Edward Seward will officiate. Burial will be in Mika- do Cemetery. Born Aug. 31, 1940, in Monroe, he was the son of Darrell and Emily Hoffman. .He,married Donna Aselstyne Sept..1, 1962, in. Newport. He was employed by the Osco- da Home Center. He served in the Air Force from December, 1961, until retir- ing in January, 1981. He served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Mika- ° do Fire Department, where he served as chief and was a mem- ber of the first responders. He was past commander and mem- ber of Alcona Post 6466, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Harrisville. He also was a member of the Mika- do Zoing Board and was a trustee for the Mikado Township Board. He was a former member of the Alcona Fair Board. Surviving are his wife; a son, . Darrell S. of Mikado; two broth- ers, George of South Rockwood and Charles of Harrisville; asis- - ter, Sandra Old of Jerome, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Corey, in 1975, and a daughter, Denise. ef > SHO
