Lloyd E. Hoffrian |” 177 Dec. 11, 1919-Oct. 27, 1999 CARLETON — Lloyd E. Hoff- man, 79, of Carleton, a farmer, died at 10:24 a.m. Wednesday in his home. He had been ill for five years and seriously ill for a year. Friends may call from 5 to 9 tonight and from noon to 9 p.m. Friday at Allore Funeral Home, Monroe. He will will in state from 10 a.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. services at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Monroe. The Rev. Larry K. Loree, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Monroe. — Born Dec. 11, 1919, in Newport, he was the son of Herman and Clara (McLaughlin) Hoffman. He married Ester Kraehnke Feb. 22, 1941. She died in September, 1979. He married Connie Courts- Simonelli Dec. 6, 1993, in Toledo. In addition to farming, he was a shipping clerk for Woodall Industries, Monroe, for 37 years, retiring in 1980. He served in the Army, Aug. 31, 1943, to April 4, 1946, serving in Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the Ameri- can Theater ribbon with two bronze stars. Mr. Hoffman was an avid card player and a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. Surviving are his wife; a step- son, Michael Simonelli of Car- leton; a daughter, Ranetta Arnold of Monroe; a brother, Alfred of Carleton; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Iva) Held of Lincoln Park and Mrs. Robert (Alice) Krueger of Monroe; two grand- children, and five great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clinton. Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.
