Fab-s 27, 3.001 ued) Fred B. Holland = June 17, 1920-Feb. 26, 2001 Fred B. Holland, 80, of Monroe died at 11:25 a.m. Monday at Mercy Memorial Nursing Care Center. He had been ill for six years. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 am. Thursday. The Rev. Roy Southerland, pas- tor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn FRED B. Memorial Park, 'OLLAND LaSalle, where members of Monroe Post 1138, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will con- duct graveside services. Born June 17, 1920, in Claiborne County, Tenn., he was the son of Fred and Sallie (Mabe) Holland. He married Joan M. Lang May 8, 1980, in Monroe. She died April 23, - 1993. From 1957-80, he was head cus- todian at Waterloo Elementary School. He served in the Army during World War II, July 24, 1942, until Jan. 27, 1946. A member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, he | enjoyed collecting antiques, coins and stamps. Surviving are five stepchildren; ° a sister, Mary E. Pillarelli of Monroe, and 14 stepgrandchildren. - In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers, James, Tip, Ralph, Edward and Alfred, and a_ sister, Hazel Williamson.
