yes je, ori | Helen Mae Jackman June 26, 1939-July 9, 2001 CARLETON - Helen Mae Jackman, 62, of Carleton, a retired Airport Community Schools teacher, died of com- plications from diabetes Monday at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital, Trenton. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Arthur -Bobcean Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Flat Rock United Methodist Church, Flat Rock. The Rev. Karen Pool, pas- tor of Flat Rock United Methodist Church, Flat Rock, will officiate. Burial will be in Carleton Cemetery, Born June 26, 1939, in Trenton, she was the daughter of Norman and Letha M. (Brown) Haines. She married Robert E. Jackman Dec. Da, 1960, at Carleton United Methodist Church. A first-grader teacher for Airport, she retired in 1996. She was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church and 4-H Ash Extension, to which she belonged for more than 30 years. She had once been named Michigan Woman of the Year. Surviving are her husband; a son, Robert (Michelle) of Carleton; a daughter, Mary Catherine Jackman of Allen Park; a brother, Norman of Carleton, and a sister, Linda Ostrander of Carleton. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Cecil. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Monroe County, Monroe.
