oe Evening News, Fri., Aug. 5, 1994 Rufus H. Jenkins BROWNSTOWN — Rufus H. Jenkins, 95, of Brownstown, for- merly of Flat Rock, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday in his home. He had been ill since June. Friends may call until 9 tonight and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock, where Hiram Lodge 110, Free and Accepted Masons, will conduct a service at 7:30 tonight. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dana Strall of the South Rockwood United Methodist Church offici- ating. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock. ; Born Sept. 20, 1898, in New- port, Tenn., he was the son of Caswell T. and Millie (Butler) Jenkins. He was married Feb. 22, 1929, to Dorothy Strong in Detroit. They made their home in Flat Rock until 1958, retiring to Venice, Fla. They then moved to Brownstown in 1991. Mrs. Jenk- ins died Feb. 16, 1991. : He had been employed as an electrical maintenance foreman at the Detroit Edison Co., Trenton Channel Plant, for 34 years, retir- ing in 1958. Mr. Jenkins was a life member and past president of the Hiram Lodge 110, F and AM; a member of the First United Methodist Church of Flat Rock, and the Venice-Nakomis United Methodist Church in Venice, Fla. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. McLellan (June) Morford of Flat Rock, Mrs. David (Betty) Hunter of Trenton and Carol Blohm of Gibraltar; seven grand- children, and 12 great-grandchil- dren. He also was preceded in. deat by nine brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Flat Rock. a
