Evening News, Sun., Oct. 20, 1996 Louis J. Kalmar BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP — Louis John Kalmar, 79, of Brownstown died of natural caus- es at noon Saturday in Wood- haven. He had been ill four years and two months. Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and noon to 9 p.m. Mon- day at the Arthur Bobcean Funer- al Home, Flat Rock, where ser- vices will be at I1 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. John Negele of Faith Lutheran Church in Flat Rock, will officiate. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock. Born April 4, 1917, in Detroit, he was the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Isabina) Kalmar. He married Christina Wash on Oct. 1, 1966, in Faith Lutheran Church. He worked as a manager for Great Lakes Steel in Ecorse for 44 years, retiring in 1980. A World War II veteran, he served in the Navy from Aug. 1, 1945, to April 22, 1946. y He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Flat Rock; Tren- ton Post 426, American Legion: Trenton Post 1888, Veterans of Foreign Wars; 40 et 8 of Riverview, Flat Rock Lodge 1731, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and Woodhaven Lodge 966, Loyal Order of the Moose. He also was a volunteer at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton for seven years. Surviving are his wife, Christi- na; three stepsons, Edson Burke of New Boston, Dennis Burke of Flat Rock and Douglas Burke of Clark- ston; a daughter, Angelene Dad- dario of Flat Rock; three sisters, Irene Horoky of Lincoln Park, Helen Nagy of Ecorse and Grace Silvassey of Dearborn Heights; 11 grandchildren, and six great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alexander and Grace Kalmar. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.
