Friends may call until 9 tonight and from noon to 9 p.m. | Wednesday at Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock. Ser- vices will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Flat Rock. The Rev. Evans C. Bentley, pas- tor of the church, and the Rev. Robert Malsack, pastor of Brook- lyn Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Michi- gan Memorial Park, Flat Rock. Born May 29, 1918, in South Rockwood, he was the son of August and Helen (Hoffman) Kemp. He married Mildred (Mil- lie) Hubert May 12, 1945, at St. John Lutheran Church, Taylor. He was a self-employed farmer in Ash Township, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Flat Rock Lodge 1731, Benevolent and Pro- tective Order of Elks; First Unit- | ed Methodist Church; Wood- haven Lodge, Loyal Order of | Moose; Flat Rock Elks Bowling | League, and the Flat Rock Mer- chants. He lived in Carleton for 72 years until moving to Irish Hills | seven years ago. He had lived in | Lake Columbia for five years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing golf. Surviving are his wife; four | sons, Bruce of Mesa, Ariz., | Randy of Toledo, Dana of Erie | and Terry of Owosso; two daugh- ters, Janice Roberts of Tecum- | seh and Vicki Cole of Monroe; a | brother, Charles of Carleton; two | sisters, Beatrice Knight of Mon- | roe and Irene Vanek of Mayber- | ry, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; four | stepgrandchildren; four great- | grandchildren, and a stepgreat- grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Geroge and Fred, and two sisters, Gertrude and Helen. Memorials may be made to the | Michigan Heart Fund.
