Joyce S. Greer Sept. 7, 1923 - Oct. 15, 2003 HOUGHTON LAKE - Joyce S. Greer, 80, of Houghton Lake, formerly of Flat Rock, died Wednesday in his home. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel, was in charge of arrangements. Born Sept. 7, 1928, in | Bradford, Ohio, he was the son of Clifford and Myrtle (Miller). Greer. He married Alice Carmichael in 1946. She died in 1956. He married Dolores Sevensky Oct. 12, 1956. He served in World War II. A supervisor, Mr. Greer retired in 1983 from the Detroit, Toledo, Ironton Railroad. He moved to Houghton Lake in 1983 from Wyandotte. He was a member of the Hiram Lodge 110, Free & Accepted Masons, Flat Rock, for 50 years; Playground Shriners Club; Elk Khurafeh Temple; Flat Rock Lodge 1731, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and Houghton Lake Loyal Order of the Moose. Surviving are his wife; a son, Harold (Kathie) Greer of Waltz; a daughter, Christine Gambino of Houghton Lake; two stepdaughters, Marlene (Tom) Wess of Fort Gratiot and Cynthia Harrison of Wyandotte; a brother, Paul Greer of Flat Rock; a sister, Anna Warner of Monroe; eight grandchildren, and 14 great- grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a sis- ter, Kathryn Knopp.
