Evening News, Fri., Dec. 1, 1995 Paul B. Laginess EAST ROCKWOOD — Paul Benjamin Laginess, 64, of East Rockwood died at 6:27 a.m. Thursday in his home. He had been ill for a month. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Ford Chapel of the Allore-Martenson Funeral Home, Rockwood. Rock of Gibraltar Post 4230, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will conduct a ser- vice at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and the rosary will be recited at 8. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home and at 10 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rockwood. The Rev. Thomas . Sauter will officiate. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock. Born Aug. 22, 1931, in Brown- stown Township, he was the son of Legrand and Lucille (Goniea) Laginess. He was married Nov. 20, 1954, to Doris Schmitt in River Rouge. Mr. Laginess had _ been employed as a millwright by Mon- santo Chemical, Trenton, for 37 years, retiring in 1994. He was a pomber of its Quarter Century ub. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he served from Feb. 14, 1952, to Jan. 27, 1954. He was a member of Rock of Gibraltar Post 4230, VFW. He also was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rock- wood. Surviving are his wife; a son, Legrand (Butch) of Belleville; four daughters, Mrs. David (Katherine) Ptasinski of South Rockwood, Mrs. Steve (Gloria) Crock and Cynthia Dzwik, both of Rockwood, and Mrs. David (Linda) Mashke of Gibraltar; a brother, Duane of Tijeras, N.M.; two sisters, Alice Timmons and Mrs. Charles (Viola) Humphriss, both of Flat Rock; six grandchil- dren, and five stepgrandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Monroe.
