' Last Tuesday Jan, 9th at about 9:00 o’clock, as Mrs. Mary Lang, of Flat Roek, was putting. some wood into the stove, her w oolen shawl which was about her shoulders caught fire and in an in- stant. she was in a mass Of flames. She ‘made. her :way to the front door just as Dr, Lobdell was passing and her screams - brought him to- her assistance at once. All that: kind neighbors and friends could do was done to’ releive her ° suffering. ‘She was so badly burned that she expir- sat 4:50; the same -afternoon.: Mary “Thorn | “was born at Port Creek, Feb. 6, 1846 and was married to Lee Lang, Oct. }6, 1870. .-All her life was spent near and in.
