Langton, 88, of Monroe, repeat winner of horse- pulling contests at Monroe County Fair, died at 10:55 p.m. Sunday at Mercy Memorial Nursing Care Center. He had been ill for 14 months and seriously ill for two months. ; A memorial Mass wil] be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Catholic Church, Newport. The Rev. William Tindall, Pastor of the church, will offici- ate. Rupp Funeral Home was in charge of arrange- ments. Born Sept. 380, 1911, in Monroe, ROBERT L. he was the son of LANGTON James and Anna (Lamb) Langton. He married | Florine Irish Oct. 18,°1934, at St. Charles Catholic Church. She died May 17, 1966. He then married Angeline (Brown) LaBeau Aug. 4, 1967, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Until 1967, he was a self. employed farmer in the Monroe area. He then worked nearly 10 years for EW. Ritter & Sons, Rockwood, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Monroe Senior Citizens and Monroe Council 1266, Knights of Columbus, and a for. mer member of St. Charles and St. Mary churches. Surviving are his wife; two sons, James of Monroe and Robert of Adrian; three stepsons, David LaBeau and Richard LaBeau, both of Monroe, and Donald LaBeau of | Tecumseh; . 4 stepdaughter, Marilyn Robinson of Trenton; a | brother, Thomas of Monroe; four grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchil- dren; nine great-grandchildren; 23 stepgreat-grandchildren: a great- great-grandchild, and three step- : great-great-grandchildren, In addition to his first wife, he Was preceded in death by two | brothers, Martin and Clinton, and | two sisters, Hazel Jonesand Helen .
