She had been seri- ously ill for three weeks. Friends may call from 4 to 9 today and from noon to 9 Tuesday at Allore Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 Tuesday at the funeral home. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at ve ne al ELIZABETH M ome, ol- : lowed by Mass Ee at10.a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev Anthony Sulkowski, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Born Dec. 2, 1911, in Monroe, she was the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Crossman) Hammer. She mar- ried Edward LaPrad June 10, 1930, at St. Mary Catholic Church. He died Oct. 15, 1991. She was a homemaker anda member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Christian Women, Verona Fathers Auxiliary and Frenchtown Senior Citizens. She was an honorary alumna of St. Mary Academy. For 10 years, she was a foster mother through Catholic Social Services and cared for 38 children. She also tutored at the Hall of the Divine Child for 10 years and at St. Charles School, Newport, for two years. Surviving are five sons, Charles (Jean) of Marathon, Fla., Marvin (Sharon) and Paul (Joyce), both of Monroe, Arthur (Martha) of .Flat Rock and David (Rose) of Hixon, Tenn.; seven daughters, Hildy (Paul) McLaughlin of Newport, Boots Barlow and Barbara (William) Jennings, both of Monroe, Alice (Richard) _ Bergmooser of Romulus, Janice Beaudry of Grand Rapids, Diane (Douglas) Crossman of South Rockwood and Cindy (John) LaPrad-Bye of Concord, N.H.; a brother, Charles II of Newport; two sis- ters, Mrs. Charles (LaVerna) Ladzick of Taylor and Marcella Sutton of Monroe; 48 - grandchildren, 73 great-grand- children and 2 great-great- grandchildren.
