RS SC Monroe Evening News, Wed., May 6, 1992 LS Francis P. Laura OCALA, Fla. — Francis Paul Laura, 68, who moved to Ocala in 1985 from Flat Rock, died Tues- day in his home in Ocala. He had been ill for 10 years and seriously ill for 10 months. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday in the Arthur Bobcean ' Funeral Home Inc., Flat Rock. Services will be at 8:15 Saturday in the funeral home, followed bya funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, New Boston. The Rev. Alexander Wytrwal will officiate and burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock. Bom Feb. 27, 1924, in Huron Township, he was the son of Melvin S. and Irene (Longton) Laura. His first wife, Onita Trout, died in 1961. He married Brenda J : eendet Dec. 14, 1989, in Flori- mae ex Mr. Laura was a rural letter car- rier for 31 years in Flat Rock be- fore retiring in August, 1980. He was past president of the Rural Letters Carriers Associa- tion; a member of Riverview Ladge, Loyal Order of the Moose, | and a member of Ocala Lodge, 1 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He is survived by his second wife; his stepmother, Mary Bell of Flat Rock; two sons, Francis M. of New Boston and Robert of Union- ville, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. Rus- sell (Sandra) Gere of Des Moines, Iowa; three stepsons, Douglas Baker of Amarillo, Texas; Dan ‘Baker of Paducah, Ky., and Glenn Baker of Willis; three stepdaugh- ters, Cheryl Blackburn of Belleville, Becky Innes of Tucson, Ariz., and Regina Baker of Ypsi- lanti; a brother, Melvin D. of New Boston; a sister, Lethal (Laura) Long of Carleton; 22 grandchil- dren, and a great-grandchild.
