Lois Lund received her PhD from the University of Minnesota with food research as her major course of study. After serving as Assistant Director at the School of Home Economics at the University of Minnesota and serving as Associate Dean in the College of Agriculture and Home Economics at Ohio State University, Lund came to MSU in 1973 as the Dean of the College of Human Ecology. Lund served as dean of the College until 1985. From 1985 to 1996 she was a professor of Food Science and Human Nutrition where she established a functional undergraduate major stressing both food science and business. Lund retired from MSU in 1996.
