GREEN KEEPERS CLUB OF NEW ENGLAND NEWSLETTER March, 19^3 The February meeting of the Greenkeepers Club of Hew England was held Monday, February 1st at the Hotel Statler in Boston. The Bound Table discussion was cut short due to members making transportation connections for home. Some of the subjects for discussion of wa„r time maintenance were; height of cut, times and time of mowings, watering, poling, care of traps, fertilizing, cupping and every possible means of cutting actual essential maintenance operations. Labor of course is the governing factor and some of the boys from the Worcester area seem to be on the spot as labor in that section is pretty well tied up, but they expect to maintain acceptable playing conditions. The March meeting will be held at the Hotel Statler in Boston, Monday, March 1st at 6:30 P.M. The Bound table discussion will be continued and the April Newsletter notice will include a list of ideas and practices for 19^3 maintenance operations. If you are not planning to attend the meeting, write your suggestions down and mail them to President Mitchell or to the Secretary. Jack Counsell will lead discussion on the new labor rulings affecting greenkeepers and grounds men.
