The Welfare Committee reported that both Sam Mitchell and Jack Counsell were ill. James Geehan, advertising manager of the magazine "Horticulture" gave a fine talk on publicity and compared the expansion of Golf and Horticulture in this country. Discussion on the labor wage situation took place and it is requested that you bring to the May meeting any information which may bear on this problem. The May meeting will be held at the Woodland Country Club, May 3rd. There will be a luncheon at 12:30 noon. The business meeting will precede the best 9 of an IS hole tournament with l/2 the handicap. Our Treasurer Jack Counsell who is confined by illness has requested that we announce "we still have a few I9U? delinquents and that dues for 19^3 should be paid before June 1st." The Club has voted that the John Shanahan Memorial Tournament be held Monday, July 12 at the Brae Burn Country Club. This month has seen some adverse weather conditions for Turf and damage has been reported, particularly to velvet bent on putting greens. What are your experiences? Come to the May meeting and compare notes with the others. Perhaps you have the answer or can help in a method for treating these areas.
