Greenkeepers Club of New England NEWSLETTER February, 1944 The Annual meeting of the Greenkeepers Club of New England was held Saturday evening at the Woodland Golf Club. At the business meeting the following slate of officers was elected: President 1st Vice Pres. 2nd Vice Pres. Paul Wanberg Homer C. Darling George Rommell, Jr. 3rd Vice Pres. Secretary Treasurer Trustee for 3 years Entertainment Committee Golf Committee Auditing Committee Philip I. Cassidy Earl Polhamus John L. Counsell Paul Hayden Lloyd Stott, chairman Arthur Anderson, chairman Arthur Cody Nicholas Bruno Weston Golf Club Juniper Hill Golf Club Formerly of Wellesley Golf Club now in armed service Needham Golf Club Charles River Country Club Salem Country Club Woodland Golf Club Lexington Golf Club Brae Burn Country Club Wollaston Golf Club Norfolk Golf Club The retiring president Sam Mitchell was presented with a gavel suitably inscribed. Arthur Cody of Wollaston, chairman, and Nick Bruno of Norfolk, runner-up were presented with trophies representing the Club Championship held at the Brae Burn Country Club. Seventeen couples enjoyed a fine dinner and evening of entertainment. Many Greenkeepers made their first appearance in over a year. The FEBRUARY meeting will be held at the Hotel Statler in Boston, Monday, February 7 at 7 P. M. Dealers in Golf supplies have been invited to attend and participate in an informal roundtable discussion on supplies available for the coming season and problems anticipated.
