The monthly meeting was held at the Manchester Country Club, Bedford, New Hampshire. Host Greenkeeper, E. Beucher. The golf course was in very good condition. Also present were many Greenkeepers from the New Hampshire area. A demonstration of golf course equipment, which was put through a test, was held and it proved satisfactory to the members. A luncheon was served at the club house, followed by a business meeting, President Homer Darling presiding. The remaining part of the afternoon was devoted to golf. Prize winners were as follows: John Dombek Blind Bogie 80- 2-78 A. Cody 81- 7-74 1st net N. Sperandio 88-12-76 2nd net S. Mitchell 101-25-76 2nd net In our profession we are known as a greenkeeper—now, for the betterment of our profession, so that it will carry more prestige in the eyes of the public. The title Superintendent of a golf course should be acclaimed. It is the public we are selling ourselves to, therefore we should have a title that they understand. Delinquent members, send your 1947 dues to Treasurer Jack Counsell, Salem Country Club, Peabody, Mass. and save him the trouble of notifying you that you are not in good standing. The next meeting of the Greenkeepers Club of New England will be held at the Ludlow Country Club, Ludlow, Mass. Monday July 7. Turf inspection and discussion accompanied by a turf specialist (we hope) 11 A.M. to 12 noon. Luncheon at 12:30 followed by a very short business meeting, then a golf tournament for all present. This is an open meeting and you and all greenkeepers are cordially invited to attend.
