Greenkeepers Club of Mew England NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 1948 The November meeting was held on Friday, October 29th, at the Pine Brook Golf Club, Weston, Mass. Host greenkeeper was Harold Farrant. What proved to be true fine hospitality was shown by the club, in their serving of a very tasty and well prepared dinner, refreshments in the house and on the course, and also their donation of twelve golf prizes. The demonstration by the Clapper and Heffner Companies was held as scheduled. A business meeting was called by President Philip I. Cassidy. The application of Carmen D. Capozzi, of the Norfolk Golf Club, Dedham, Mass., was voted upon, resulting in his being elected an associate member. The following men were appointed as the nomi-pating committee for 1949 and told to report at the next meeting: Sam Mitchell, Chairman; Ted Swanson, Art Anderson and Mike O'Grady. Manuel Francis and Harold Mosher were appointed to assist the committee that is working pn the 25 year award for member greenkeepers. 1 It is with regret we announce the passing of Norman Plowden, associated with the Clapper Co., /Newton, Mass., as salesman at their store for many years.
