Dealers of Golf Course Equipment and Supplies were present and discussed the supply situation for the coming season. Possibilities of the small Gibson Tractor on Golf Courses was pointed out. Hand mowers of certain types will be scarce items this season. Power Greens Mowers will be limited. Seed, 24-D, D.D.T., and Chlordane are available in good quantity. Green and Tee accessories are good with the exception of bamboo poles. Perhaps this would be a good time to try out a metal pole. DuPont now has a new fungicide called F.-531 for Dollar Spot, Copper Spot, and Pink Patch. It is supposedly non-burning and not toxic to the soil. It may be applied at the rate of 3 ounces per thousand square feet either by spraying or dry with sand. For snow mold the rate of application would be increased to 8 ounces. It was suggested that no water be applied for 24 hours after applying and not to use it with mercury. Has your club contributed to the Turf Research Fund? The smaller clubs are donating from $10.00-$30.00, while the larger $30.00-$50.00. The application of Ignace Gill, superintendent at the Derryfield Country Club, Manchester, N. H., was read and is to be voted on at the next meeting. The next meeting will be held at the Highland Country Club, Attleboro, Mass., Monday, May 3rd. This is going to be a joint meeting with the Rhode Island Greenkeepers Club. The program will start at 10 A.M., the feature will be a demonstration of the Greens model Aerifier. This should prove to be of great interest. A golf tournament will be held in the afternoon. It is hoped that an exceptionally good turn-out will appear at this next meeting. Prizes galore, so take your clubs out of storage and take one home. The directions to the club are Route 1—take 152, turn right at Court House in Attleboro which is Mechanic St.; that takes you right to the club. A. J.
