These words of James Whitcomb Riley express the editor's sentiments and maybe yours,
regarding the beautiful fall we are enjoying.
Every year the New England Autumn seems
to improve. Certainly this one is tops.
A better fall day could not be found for the
Shanahan Greenkeeper-Pro tournament, Monday,
October 1, at Brae Burn. The course was well
groomed and in excellent condition from every
tee to green. Thirty-five teams participated.

happens that the editor is in the midst of building another nine holes at Juniper Hill and "makin'
hay while the sunshines".

The next and final outdoor meeting of the
season will be held Monday, October 29, at Wianno
Golf Club, Wianno, Mass. (Send your card for
reservations). Luncheon promptly at 12 Noon.
Not much time for 18 holes unless the time
schedule is followed. This is the Club Championship of the season too, so you long hitters be
there.
How do you get there ? George Rommell says,
"From Boston, or vicinity, follow Route 128 to
18 to 28 to 6 at Buzzards Bay. Follow 6 to the
Mid-Cape Highway until you come to a sign saying Marstons Mills and Osterville 5 miles. (God
Help you if you miss this sign) Route 149. At
Osterville follow Parker Road to the golf course
on this road. From Worcester take Route 140 to
28 to 6 etc. Read your road map, follow your nose
and we'll be seeing you.
