Cape Cod "capers" were slightly rugged at the November meeting at Bass River on Monday, November 3rd. Nineteen hearty individuals teed of into a brisk wind after lunch and probably set a record as a group for time in playing the course. Dave Barry has a fine set of greens. They wjere still green and true with a uniform putting surface. Leaves were noticable by their absence, the only area where they were noticed was at the 8th tee where they did not interfere with play. Eleven other members visited nearby courses after touring Bass River. Arthur Anderson is still nursing a bad shoulder but assisted with signing up the players. Following are the results of the tournament: Dave Barry, 73; M. Brown, 77; J. Dombek, 78; Bill Ash, 79; Mike O'Grady, 79; Sam Mitchell, 82; A. Cody, 83; L. Payson, 83; C. Piantedosi, 87; P. Cassidy, 78; N. Muccirone, 88; N. Sperandio, 93; M. Mahoney, 103; L. Sperry, 103; R. Muccirone, 115. Four guests played and scored as follows: Mike McDonough, 86; W. Mitchell, 87; "Pat" Pasqualueci, 101; H. McGoldrik, 79. At the business meeting President Cody appointed the following committee: Harold Mosher, chairman, Arthur Anderson, William Ash, Guy Tedesco and George Volmer. At six o'clock we met for dinner at the "Riverside" in the center of town and enjoyed a gab-fest previous to a fine turkey dinner. Just to wind up a perfect day, we drove home in a light rain. It was a pleasant sight even though just a small sample of the real thing. The next meeting of the Greenkeepers Club of New England will be held Monday, December 1 at the Waltham Field Station on Beaver Street, Waltham. There will be a luncheon served at 12:30 noon as has been the custom at these indoor winter meetings. Educational chairman, Tony Sperandio, announces that this will be the Annual Dealers' Meeting. Let's get together at Waltham! December 1st! PHIL CASSIDY
