NEWSLETTER OCTOBER, 1952 It is with deep regret your Secretary reports the death of Mrs. Arthur Cody, in her home, on Saturday, October 4, after a short illness. The funeral services were held, on Monday, October 6, and were attended by many members of our club. It is needless to say the entire membership extends deepest sympathy to our President, Arthur Cody, in his great loss. The 19th annual John Shaniahan Memorial Tournament, which serves as the Nejw1 England Pro-Greenkeeper Championship was held on Monday, Oct. 20tlh at the Brae Burn Country Club. It was won by Paul Yurick, and Bill Ash, amid a frosty environment. John Thoren and Harold Rethmian did not defend their 1951 laurels because Rethman is now in the Air Force. Charley Sheppard land, Arthur Anderon, 1950 Champions, did not compete due to Arthur's ailing back. You're on your own as far as lunch is concerned, but the Golf Tournament will start at 12 noon sharp, or sooner if you can make it.
