Professor Joe Troll, University of Massachusetts was present and he passes on this information in regards to diseases. Results of plugs sent to the University of Mass. have shown 19 out of 20 plugs to be a complex organism of Helminthosporium-Curvularia and Fusarium, which is very difficult to control, best results have been Acti-dione Ferrated at recommended rates. Good control also reported by using Iron sulfate with thiram \ to 1 oz. Iron sulfate per 1000 sq. ft. at 5 to 7 day intervals. Be careful with Iron and Acti-dione Ferrated as it may burn. Arthur Anderson was nominated to represent our Association at the National Turf Conference on the nominating committee and Bob Grant and Dick Blake were nominated to serve on the advisory committee. Edward Olson, 85 years of age and former Pro-Supt. at Segregansett Country Club, Taunton, Massachusetts, died recently.
