On motion of Mr. Doherty, the request of the Eunomian Society for privi- lege of building a society house upon the College campus, was referred to the Committee on Buildings and College Property. On motion of Mr. Doherty, Miss Yakeley -was authorized to attend, at the Miss Yakeley expense of the College, a meeting of registrars to "be held at Salt Lake City in July. to go to Salt Lake City. On motion of Mr. Woodman, the following resolution was adopted: . Resolved,- 'That the College furnish a ticket for the alumni "banquet to each member of the graduating class wishing to attend, and pay for any shortage in the numtoer of plates guaranteed, under the approval of the Secretary, to the caterer at fifty cents a plate, provided the alumni committee charges those attending the "banquet Tickets for alumni "ban- quet. fifty cents each for tickets. On motion of Mr. Woodman, the following report of the committee on a two-year course in practical agriculture, was adopted: president J. L, snyder:- June 7, 1913. The following report is submitted "by the committee appointed to consider Report on i ; two-year course. establishment of two year course in practical agriculture. Recommendations relative to Short Courses for the year 1913-1^. During the College year,.now about to close, five Short Courses were offered, viz: General Agriculture, first and second years; Creamery Management, . first and second years; Cheese Maying; Poultry Raising and Fruit Growing. These were all eight weeks courses except the second year creamery management 7tfiieh was six. During the development of these courses the process has "oeen a lenthening one, the course in fruit growing at one time extending over "but two weeks. The committee recommends that all courses other than general agriculture remain u n- changed, as to the time and general plan, for the present, . Your committee also recommends that the ccurse in general agriculture for the coming year "be lengthened "by the addition of seven weeks "beginning Monday, Uovemlier 3rd, 19,13. The future may demand still further extension "but we deem it "best not to make a more radical change during the first year, of the transition. We also recommend that, for a time at .least, the work of this first term, November 3rd to December 19th, he made independent, as far as possible, of the second term until the new plan shall have completely replaced the present eight weeks cour.se. The first term could "be made up of studies such as the following, vtz; Study of Breed Types, Forge ana Bench Work, Physics, (relating to agriculture), English, Business Training, Development of Agriculture and Rural Sociology, with possibly some preliminary work in Soils or Crops. The second term, January 5th to February 27th, could remain as no?/ out- lined for the first year, including the following studies, viz: Study of Breeds, Farm Crops5, Soils, Forge and Bench. Veterinary Science, Animal Feeding, Horticulture and Forestry. The first term's work shculd precede this, "but would not necessarily "be prerequisite to it. This would, therefore, make it possible to readvertise the second term along with the other short courses after registration for the first term- had taken place, The second year short course in general agriculture would remain the same for this year, as there would not be any candidates for an extended second year the first season. :' We also recommend that the standard of entrance should not "be less than completion of the eighth grade or its equivalent, and that the minimum age limit should not be less than seventeen years. . §.. s.
