OF  THE 
MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY 
BOARD OF TRUSTEES 

September 24, 1993 

The Special Meeting of the Michigan State University Board of Trustees was called to 
order by President Gordon Guyer on Friday, September 24, 1993, at 4:45 p.m. in Room 
101 of the Kellogg Center. 

Trustees present:  Dolores M| Cook, Joel Ferguson, Barbara  Sawyer-Koch, John D. 
Shingleton, and Bob Traxler. 

Trustees absent:  Dorothy Gonzales, Russell G.Mawby, and Robert E. WeissV 

University officers present:  President Gordon Guyer and Secretary Marcellette G. 
Williams. 
All actions taken were by unanimous vote of the Trustees present, unless otherwise 
noted. 

1.:  On a motion by Mr.  Shingleton, supported  by Ms. Cook, THE BOARD VOTED  to 

approve the agenda. 

2.  There were no requests to address the Board of Trustees. 

3.  President Guyer announced that it had been requested that the Board of Trustees 
meet in Executive Session as authorized by Section 8(a) of the Open Meetings 
Act to consider a personnel evaluation of a public officer/employee, or staff 
member. 

On a motion by Mr. Shingleton, supported by Ms, Cook, THE BOARD VOTED to go 
into Executive Session. 

4.  The meeting was adjourned at 4:50p.m.
