MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING 
OF THE 
MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY 
BOARD OF.TRUSTEES 

October 26, 1994 

A Trustee Finance Committee meeting was held in the President's Conference Room at 
9:15 a.m.  Minutes of the meeting are on file in the Office of the Secretary of the 
Board of Trustees. 

The meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by Provost Simon in the 
absence of President McPherson at 9:30 a.m. in the President's Conference Room. 

Trustees present (all by telephone):  Dolores M. Cook, Dorothy Gonzales, Russell G. 
Mawby, Barbara J. Sawyer-Koch, John D. Shingleton, Bob Traxler, and Robert E. Weiss. 
Trustee absent:  Joel Ferguson. 

University officials present:  Provost Simon, Vice President Wilkinson, Assistant 
Vice President Terry, Director of Investments and Trusts Craig, and Secretary Hesse. 

1....:.  The  Trustee  Finance  Committee  report  and  recommendation  was  presented  by 

Trustee Traxler as follows: 

It was recommended that $3 million be invested in the TCW (Trust Company of the 
West) Special Credits Fund VI - The Distressed Mortgage Fund; 

On a motion by Trustee Traxler, seconded by Trustee Shingleton, THE BOARD VOTED 
unanimously to approve the recommendation.
