On motion of Mr. Woodman, a short course in Veterinary Medicine, as out- j j Approve a short course in Veter- inary Med. lined in the following communication from Dean Lyman, was approved; "To The Faculty and State Board of Agriculture: So numerous and favorable have been the comments from practitioners of Michigan, relative to this college offering them opportunity for advanced worfc along certain phases of study now scheduled in the teterinary Division, that I am prompted to offer a short course to graduate veterinarians. I recommend, therefore, that the Faculty and State Board of Agri culture favorably consider the establishment of a:short course to be designated "Short Courses in Veterinary Medicine".• • At the present time it seems best to set the date for this course to begin early in January, and so arranged as to have the closing period simultaneous with the opening of the State Veterinary -Association, which convenes annually in Lansing the first Tuesday in February. No person to be classified in these courses for less time than one weelc, nor in one year for more than four weeXs, but while here he shall be permitted to elect any two or more phases of work offered. At termination of these courses a certificate will be granted for accredited wort:. Applicants to be under the same rulings as regards entrance, attendance at classes, and campus regulations as are extended to students of other short courses. The following is a tentative outline of worx suggested, but we prefer to request that this matter be left open to be determined upon by the dean of veterinary science-or a committee of the faculty with power: • Suggested courses. On motion.of Mr- Graham, the recommendation of Mr. Eustace in regard to the appointment of Mr. I. R. iToteware to take charge of the worK of the South Haven Experiment station at Seventy-five-dollars per month, beginning April 1, was approved. On motion of Mr. Graham, in view of the fact that the rifle team, under the direction of the military department, has made a world's record.1, Sixty dol- lars was added to the apportionment of the military department in order to carry Rifle team to receive; sweaters. r out the following recommendation of Lieutenant DeLancey: That' the ten men have made the rifle team the greatest number of times be given .monogram sweaters, the monogram to be designed by the student council, and that the two substitutes be given sweaters similar to the first ten men, but without the monogram and Specifica-*id t ions for military uniform.. with the letter "S", meaning "substitute". On motion of Mr. Waterbury, the following specifications for military [•uniforms, recommended by Lieutenant DeLancey, were adopted; Specifications- for the Military Uniform of Michigan Agricultural College. Belts, waist, To correspond to the standard worn by the Regular Army, with patent buckle fastener, buckle without tongue, and. belt without holes.
