On motion of Mr. Doherty, the Secretary was authorized to purchase a chemical fire extinguisher. - On recommendation of Mr. Baldwin, Superintendent of extension work, Mr. Fade feston was elected as assistant, at a salary of One thousand dollars per annum, beginning December 1. On motion of Mr. Doherty, the requests of Lieutenant DeLancey, presented by President Snyder, were referred to the Committee on Buildings and College Property, • - President Snyder presented a communication from Dean Shaw, giving his reasons for not pur-chasing feeding cattle for the Upper Peninsula Experiment Station. On motion of Mr. TVaterbury, the question of permitting instructors to take work in college was referred to the Committee on Employes. On motion of Mr, Doherty, an additional apportionment of twelve hundred dollars was made for the Department of Botany for the present period. On motion of Mr. Doherty, the expense accounts of the Board members wea?e allowed. The Secretary presented a communication from Mr. Beaumont, in reference to the.Employers• Liability Law, upon which matter no action was taken. Doherty, the recommendation of Mr. Baldwin that J. M, ¥endt be employed, cooperatively with St. Joseph County, as County Agent, the 1 College to pay $1200.00 of the salary, was approved. On motion of Mr. Doherty, Mr. Baldwin was authorized to employ an extension man, for the period of three months only, to deal with the subject of marketing. . On motion of Mr. Doherty, the Secretary was authorized to provide for a dinner to "be given for the members of the Live Stock Breeders Association on the occasion of their annual meeting, in January. On motion of Mr. Doherty, Mr. Woodman v/as authorized to sign the vouchers for November.
