Locating Gymnasium On motion of Mr. l&cftnan, the expense account of Mr. W. I* Gilson in accom- panying students on an educational tour of inspection, was authorized to be paid. President Kedzie presented a communication from Prof. Halligan in reference to a proposed canning course. On motion of-Mr. Waterbury, 2£r. Halligan was requested to submit an estimate in detail of the expense involved in instituting I such a course. < On motion of Mr. Doherty, the salary of Miss Arline Tesch, Stenograph for the departments of Mathematics and English, was increased to #600.00 beginning February 1st. On motion of Mr. Waterbury, the recommendation of the Faculty that solid geometry and physics be dropped from the* entrance requirements for the Agricul- tural, Home Economics and Veterinary Divisions, was approved. On motion of Mr. Doherty, the recommendation of the Faculty that the degree of Master of Science be conferred upon Mr. Walter Spurgeon Beach and Mr* Kurt Peiser, was approved. . On motion of Mr. Doherty, the plan and estimate for the Summer School, in- volving a maximum expenditure of #7200.00, was approved. On motion of Mr. Woodman, the communication from Prof. Sawyer in reference t° increase in apportionment, was laid upon the table until the next meeting. On motion of Mr. Woodman, the Secretary was directed to ship to Dr. Seal, express paid, fifty copies of his History of the College. On motion of Mr. Doherty, Mr. Graham was elected Chairman of the Board for the succeeding two years. . On motion of Mr. Doherty, the following resolution of the M.A*C*Aluiani Association,.was received and placed on file: EESOLVED, That we tender the State Board of Agriculture our sincere appre- ciation of its action in appointing 3r+ Frank S. Kedzie as acting president of M.A.C* As a devoted member of the M.A.C.Association and as a spiendid product of the College, one who has so far given'his life to its service, We cherish for Dr. Kedzie the highest regard and affection. .
