A representative of the Bell Telephone Company appeared before the Board in reference to the installation of a Bell switch-board at the College. Both boys and girls will he attend, consequently one of the women on Mr* Turner's staff will be needed to assist him* I wish to have the expenses of Mr. Turner and one of his assistants paid while taking charge of this group at the Chicago International Live Stock Show* A similar situation had to be cared for with the national Dairy Show, in.which there was not an opportunity to previously secure authorization from the Board* Mumford's salary to be pd*until Hov*30th* It was intended, I believe, that Dr. Mumford should be paid full salary until November 30th. The Federal Office could not pay his salary after October 31st, while on leave of absence. The Federal portion of his salary for November at $1$0Q per year should be authorized to be paid from Smith- Lever funds* Very truly yours, R.
