The minutes of the two previous meetings, held jan.18 and Feb.6 respectively, were read and approved with the exception of Dr. Mumford>a s a l- ary which was fixed at the former meeting. This was changed to read at the rate of #^000 instead of #2500 per annum. On motion of Mr. Doelle, the expenses of Mr. Tennant in attending the National Agricultural Conference at Washington, were authorized to be paid. On motion of Mr. Woodman, the resignation of Mr. R. M. Hain as Extension Specialist in Entomology, was accepted to take effect April 1. On motion of Mr. Woodman, the transfer of Hr9 J. W. Weston from county agent work in the Upper Peninsula to the position of Extension Specialist! Correcting Dr. Mumfordi salary^ Tennant to attend meet- ing. Hain resigns Weston transferred in potatoes and Vegetables, was approved. On motion of Mr. Doelle, the recommendations contained in t i» f o l- lowing communication from Director Baldwin, were approved: "Feb. 13, 1922. Dean R. S. Shaw, East Lansing, Mich. Dear Dean Shaw: The following items are submitted for consideration by the Board of Agriculture: We wish to recommend the appointment of Mr. Nevels Pearson as Assistant Club Leader at #2600 per year, to take effect March 1, 1922. Mr. Pearson will have charge of live stock clubs in the Lower Peninsula. Mr. K.A, Anderson had charge of this work and since his resignation it has been cared for in a temporary manner. Mr. Pearson is a graduate of Kansas Agricultural Col- lege and is now in charge of live stock clubs in that state. Extension appointments made as recommended Ontonagon County again desires to cooperate in the employment of an agent. Mr. R. W. Clark has been accepted by the county and we wish his appoint ment made effective Feb. 15> 1922, at the usual rate of #1200 per year. We wish to transfer Mr .-Roy I. Shane from Chippewa to Schoolcraft County, effective March 1st. It is my understanding that Chippewa County will take up the work again in the spring. Authorization of the following out-of-atate trips is desired: Mr. Tennant to Chicago on request of Michigan Live Stock Exchange and Ohio Farm Bureau to appear before Committee of 15 on Live Stock Marketing to secure certain changes in their general plan. Also to Wisconsin to attend Tri-State Development Convention on request of Mr. Doelle. On motion of Mr* Woodman, a committee consisting of Messrs* Watkins, Brody and Acting Secretary Schepers, was appointed to procure an appraisal of the Union Literary Society House and make recommendation to the Board at the next meeting* On motion of Mr* Watkins, Miss Edith Butler was reappointed Instructor in Drawing for the months of April, Kay and June, at a salary of |lgOO per annum* On motion of Mr* Brody, the Secretary was instructed to write a letter of acceptance to Mr* Scripps of, Detroit, thanking him for the donation of a prize winner Aberdeen Angus bull, given by him to the College* On motion adjourned* Acting Secretary* I 1 i * • • ' - — : -;I
