Present, President Priday, Mrs. Stockman, and Messrs. Watkins, Me.Pherson, Brody, Woodman and Secretary Halladay. The minutes of the previous meeting, having been in the hands of the members, v/ere approved without reading. On motion of Mr. Brody, the resignation of Mr. &. P. Davis as Assistant in Poultry Husbandry, was accepted as of March 1. ' On motion of Mr. Watkins, Prof. A. C. 'Conger was appointed Acting Head of the De partment of Zoology and Physiology for the remainder of the academic year. On motion of Mr. Woodman, Mr Watkins was appointed to represent the Board of Agri culture on the Board of Directors of the M. A. C. Union. - .Oh motion of Mrs. Stockman, the Secretary was instructed to write to the Secretary of Agriculture at Washington and make arrangements, if;'possible j tc establish a federal forest experiment station in Michigan. On motion of Mr. Watkins, the hill for drain Inspection' and leveling amounting to $592.50, ;as presented by W. VanHaitsma, was authorised to he paid from the Land Improvement fund. On motion of Mr. Brody, Mr. Ralph H. Young, was appointed Athletic Director, Head Coach of major sports, and Professor of Physical Education, at a salary of $6000 per annum beginn ing Sept/ 1 .' . '.- , ; On motion of Mr. Woodman, the Secretary was requested to correspond with Dr. Geo. E. Hart of the University of California and offer him the Beanship of the Veterinary Division at a salary of $6000 per annum. On motion of Mr. Woodman, it was voted bo tear do\*n the eld piggery and park the land occupied as a hog ran. • On motion of Mrs. Stockman, Director Shaw was authorized to establish experimental plots for soil "building purposes in some forty counties of Michigan. These plots shall comprise about fifty acres to the county and shall contain from five to ten acres each of cut over and worn out lands, to be '.sown to sweet clover, alfalfa, and other grass seeds.
