Motion by Mr* McGoll that Eadio Station W.K.A.E. be hereafter recognized by the State Board of Agriculture as the official Michigan Agricultural College Hadio Station and that special fund be appropriated sufficient to maintain and keep same and that the money spent from other departments during this fiscal year be reimbursed to them as soon as funds are available except such portions as were provided for in this yearfs budget for that purpose; and that the mechanical equip ment be left in charge of the Electrical Engineering Department under the direct supervision of-Dean George W. Bissell. The Faculty at its meeting on February 4, 1924, recommended to the Board the adoption of a four-year course in Liberal Arts granting an AiB. Degree. On motion of Mr* McPherson this course was accepted and adopted by the 3oard to be come available to enrolling students at the opening of the college year, September 229 1924. Motion made by Mr. McGoll that the following resignations be accepted* Mr. H. E. Dennison, Extension Specialist in Dairy Husbandry, to take effect March 15. Carried. Mr. Henry H. Hagen, to be County Club Agent for Iron County at a salary of §2100, $600 of which is to be paid for by the U. S. Department of Agriculture and the balance by the county, to be effective March 1. Motion made by Mr. Brody that Mr. Lawrence Martin, Instructor in Eng lish be granted one year's leave of absence without pay. Carried. Motion made by Mr. McColl that the Request of the Library Experiment Station for a budget apportionment of $600 be left with the finance Committee. . Carried. Also, the request of Dr. Hunt of the Zoology Department for additional funds and Dr. Hallman's request for additional funds for the Animal Pathology Department be left with the Finance Committee. Carried. Moved by Mr. Brody that Mr. Laversf request to change the present ash conveyor system at the Boiler iiouse from a pressure system to an exhaust type; the cost not to exceed $800.00. Carried. Motion made by Mr. Brody that the Board renew their offer of £10,000 for the property belonging to the Union Literary Society, terms, if agreeable,- to be arranged by the President and Secretary. Motion made by Mr. Brody that the matter relative to the salaries of summer school teachers be referred to the Educational Committee. Carried. Motion made by Mr. Brody that the lease on ground, asked for by the State for the Department of ifublic Safety, be left to a committee composed of Mr. McColl, Mr. wwdy and the Secretary, with power to act. Carried. Mr. Shaw reported that he had appointed the following committee to look after the proposed Horse Show, being planned for the .last day or two in May next: Col. Sherburne, Secretary HalMay and Dr. Button. On motion of Mrs. Stockman the extablishment of a department of Education was authorised to include teacher training work for one-, two- and four-year courses. The one-year course leading to the higher course is to be offered this year in addition to teacher training for students of the Liberal Arts Course. These changes and additions to be subject to Faculty action. Carried.,^ Motion by Mr. Gowdy that the new Liberal Arts Course fees be as follows; Course Fee, $26.00; in the Department of Music, fees for piano, violin, voice or band instruments, #7.50 per term for matriculants, §20.00 per term for each subject for non-matriculants wishing to take any of these subjects. A report was read of the Faculty action relative to the establishment of Teacher Training Courses. Motion was made by Mr. Watkins that President Shaw appoint a committee of three members of the faculty to confer with the Educational Committee of the i^oard to make investigations relative to the teacher training caarses and report at the next meet ing of the Board.
