The release of Dr. Coons for two weeks with salary paid by the College. A. C. that were former Boys and Girls Club members, together with a letter from Mr. Turner, State Club Leader, concerning the Board of Agriculture Scholarships for club champions. 5. An interview with the Hungarian Minister in Washington regarding his interest in the American Hungarian Foundation, and the co-operation of the latter with the Hungary Society of America 6* The awarding of the scholarships on October 22 to Miss Margaret Plant* Home Economics Division, and Mr* Chauncey Pari of the Engineering Division for having shown the best scholastic record at the end of their Junior year* (Each $100*00) 7* The renewal of the D* M. Perry Company fellowship, in amount #1000* #800 for salary and $200 for apparatus necessary in determining the germinability of seed by measur ing its electrical conductivity. The President has officially acknowledged the gift* 8. The gift of R* S. Olds of the "R.E.Olds* Fund". The prizes are designed to encourage community singing contests at the college. Motion by Mr. McColl that the President be authorized to employ a supervisor of practice teaching if funds are available* The motion was carried. The transfer of•— Clair Taylor, County Agricultural .Agent, Newaygo, to Saton County, effective December 1, 1924. Same salary $3000 - $1200 to be paid from the Smith-Lever • Fond. On motion of Mr. Brody it was voted that the transfer be made. Mr. Carr and Mr. Ballard recommend that the allotment in the counties of Ionia, Mecosta, and Shiawassee be increased to $1800 for a temporary period beginning November 1* 1924. Shis due to the fact that the funds in these counties are not sufficient to continue the County Agricultural Agent work. On motion of Mr. McColl it was voted that the funds be made available for the temporary period as stated in the request. Motion by Mr. Brody that Miss Carrie C. Williams, Extension Clothing Specialist be given $2800 per year instead of $2700 as was voted in the last meeting of the board. (This raise was made to correct an error. The motion was carried* Resignation of E* C Foreman, effective November 17, 1924. On motion of Mr* McColl it was voted that Mr. Foreman1 s resignation be accepted. November pay of E. C. Foreman, check dated November 17, 1924 On motion of Mr. McColl it was voted that the Secretary be authorized to pay Mr. Foreman for the month of November. The purchase of Laundry Machinery from the"'"Lutes Sinclair Company, the amount not to exceed $948.50, This machinery is to complete the equipment in the Laundry of the Woman* s Building. On motion of Mr. Brody it was voted that tide machinery be purchased. A contract with the H. G. Christman Company for the construction of a high pressure line from the Union Building to the Home Economics fiuilding, the amount not to exceed $2,000*00. On motion of Mr. McColl it was voted that the line be constructed. Motion oy Mr. McColl that Dean Shaw and Secretary Halladay get apraisals f or certain lands and report at the next board meeting* The motion was carried.
