The President reported that he had asked Dean Shaw to serve as Chairman of a special committee to investigate the Menominee County School project and Dean Shaw presented a report of the committee and outlined plans already in mind* The President further reeommecuded that this committee with such additions as may be desirable, be made a com mittee to serve for two years as the Cormittee in Charge of the Menominee County Agri cultural School* Committee: Dean Shaw. The amount of loss is #1024.43 On motion of Mrs* Stoclman it was voted that an amount not to exceed #1000 be appropriated to replacd the material lost and that the matter be turned over to the Purchasing Agent of the college* 6. Dean Ryder reported recommendation from the Administrative Committee concerning the degree of Bachelor of Arts for Mr* Alfred P* Westphal. On motion of Mr. Watkins it was voted that the matter be left to the President. 7. On motion of Mr. Watkins it was voted that the matter relative to the conferring of a degree on Willard Hopkins be referred to the President* 8. The President reported a plan drawn up by the Extension Service and endorsed by Dean Shaw relative to statement of purpose and policy of County Councils of Agriculture and Country Life and recomnended that the matter be left to the Board Committee and the President with power. On motion of Mr* Watkins it was voted that the recommendation be adopted. 9. Secretary Halladay raised a question concerning time of workmen on the grounds< On motio n of Mr. McPherson it was voted that the whistle should be the signal fbr laborers to go to work and to quit and that orders be posted to this effect. Upkeep of park between blvd. 10. Secretary Halladay raised a-question in regard to the cost of upkeep of the park in the double row of Elms. On motion of Mr. McColl it was voted that ths suggestion made by Alderman Hallmanf that the expense of the upkeep of the strip between the driveways of the boulevard along the north line of the campus, be equally divided between the city of East Lansing and the college, be accepted.
