Zp The Secretary presented a latter from the Union Literary Society. On motion of Ilrs. Stockman, AA:.was voted to authorize the selection of a site on the campus for the Union Literary Society, on such terms as may be agreed upon between the Board and the Society; that Mr. Phillips be asked to proceed with the necessary description to give them a lease of this permanent location; and that the Secretary be authorized to proceed with the necessary contract. 3. 5?he Secretary presented the opinion from the Attorney General's.Department that a sew- age disposal plant could be built in cooperation with the City of East Lansing, that the Board had full authority to act in the matter. 4. Secretary Halladay presented a letter from Mr. S* C. >7hite, Superintendent of Okemos Consolidated School regarding taxes on College-owned lands in that district. On motion of Mr* Gowdy, it was voted that the matter be referred to the Attorney General• 5. The Secretary reported Mr. McCarthy's proposal concerning a plan to complete two offices in the Union Memorial Building for the use of student publications. On motion of Mr. McColl, it was voted that the above matter be referred to the Secretary with power to act. 6. The Secretary reported that the President's House plans had not yet reached Mr* Bov/d's office. 7. The Secretary reported that he had received a letter from Mr. A. J. Hash, Secretary of the East Lansing Development Corporation, offering the College the Hesperian House, moved to a location on Ann Street and thoroughly remodelled and repaired, at the rental of $2500 a yaar.
