Berkey, Brody, Chairman, McColl, Daane, Mrs. Wilson, President Shaw and Secretary Halladay. ; Absent: Mr, Mcpherson, Superintendent Pearce. \ The meeting was called to order at 4 P.M. j The minutes of the previous meeting were approved with the following correction. I The travel authorization for Mr. P. A. Herbert to the Tax Conference at Columbus, Ohio read "with j railroad and pullman paid." According to President Shawfs letter to Dean Cox, this item should \ have read "with expenses paid". [ On motion of Mr. McColl, it was voted to approve the above correction. Resignations I RESIGNATIONS ! 1. v Resignation of Mrs. Helen Davis Benedict, stenographer in the Central Office, effective October 1, 1932. 2.^ Resignation of Mrs. Frances Doyen Deibert, Secretary to Dean of Home Economics, effective November 1, 1952. On motion of Mr. Brody, it was voted to approve the above resignations. Appointments APPOINTMENTS lir Appointment of Miss Maxine Curtis, as Secretary to the Dean of Home Economics, effective November 1st at $1114.92, replacing Mrs. Frances Deibert, 2. _ Appointment of Mr. Fred Patton, Associate Professor of Music, replacing Mr. Louis Graveure in the Department of Music at §4,000 per year, effective September 1st. 3.T Temporary appointment of Henrietta Randall, R.N. as general duty nurse, replacing Mabel Stanley, at $100 per month plus board and laundry, effective October 1st. 4, -Appointment of Herbert Taylor Graham and William George Keck as half time Graduate assis tants in Physics, effective at the opening of fall term 1932. These men held'the same assistantships last year. 5.- Appointment of Mr. C. L. Nash, Extension Specialist in Economics, effective September 1st at $3300 per year. 6. : Appointment of Jacob P. Fase as assistant freshman football coach for 1932 season at salary of $150.00. 7. _ Appointment of Miss Elisabeth Daniels as Instructor in Physical Education for women. Due to a misianderstanding this appointment was made in October 1931 for one year only, and should have been recorded as a permanent appointment. 8. Appointment of Mrs. LaDore Irland as Instructor in History for fall term at $150 per month; 3¾ months service only. (With approval that there be no expenditure in excess of the practice followed last year) . 10.-Appointment of Mrs* Ethel W. Rathke as Instructor in the Language Department, effective September 1st, at ($120.00 a month for ten months. On motion of Mr. Berkey, it was voted to approve the appointments. e Travel TRAVEL REQUESTS 1.. Dr. Huddleson and Dr. Mailman to the American Public Health Association, Washington, D.C., October 26th and 27th, with transportation. These men are to be on the program. On motion of Mr. Daane, it was voted that only one of the above mentioned persons, either Dr. Huddleson or Dr. Mailman, be allowed travel to Washington with railroad mileage and pullman. 2. Prof. G. A. Branaman to the American Live Stock Show at Kansas City, November 12th to 19th, with railroad fare, board and lodging, from Animal Husbandry Department funds. Prof. Brana man is to accompany the Stock Judging Team. 3. Request from Prof. G.A. Brown that the expenses of the six members of the Stck Judging Team to attend the American Live Stock Show at Kansas City be paid. These expenses are estimated at $50.00 per man. 4. Prof. P.A. Herbert or representative of his Department, to the Ohio Valley Section of the Socieigr Travel of American Foresters at Martinsville, Indiana, October 28th and 29th, with mileage at five cents a mile for one car. Request from George Brovm of Dept. of Animal Husbandry to send a representative with students, in competing with student Live Stock Judging teams for the International Live Stock Exposition, \ to Urbana, Illinois, October 27th, 28th, and 29thj and to Purdue University November 2rd, 4th and 5th. For trip to Illinois, request living expenses of 2 representatives and use of college j car with expenses for gas and oil, estimate $80.00. For trip to Purdue, authorization requestedj for travel expenses of two representatives and mileage on two cars, estimate approximately $80. j Both to be charged to travel allotment of Animal Husbandry Department. Austin in 10, which was not approved. On motion of Mr. McColl, it was voted to approve travel items 4, 5, 7, 8,. 13 and 14. On motion of Mrs. Wilson, it was voted to approve items 11 and 12. On motion of Mr. McColl, it was voted to delegate Mr. Daane and Mrs. Wilson to represent the Board at the meeting of the Association of Land Grant Colleges and Universities, Washington, D . C, Novem ber 14, 15, and 16 with all expenses. MISCELLANEOUS 1. Authorization for expenses of Clark .S. Chamberlain who participated in the U.S. Final Olympic trials at Palo Alto, California, July 2nd to 22nd expenses in the amount of $150.86, to come from Athletic Association funds. 2. Authorization for expenses of Thomas C. Ottey who participated in Final Olympic Trials at Palo Alto, California, July 6th to 20th, in the amount of $100.70. (U.S. Olympic Committee paid all expenses on the return trip.) #75.00 has been paid T.C. Expenses in the amount of $10.00 travel, for Ralph H. Young, interviewing prospective students at Gary, Indiana, from Athletic Association fund.
