Appointment of Mr. E. B. Brauner as Instructor in Art for 1955-56, effective September 1st at a salary of $1800 per year. Position has been authorized by the Board at S1600.00, but adequate help at that salary could not be found. 14. Recommendation for an indefinite leave of absence with pay for Professor A. H. Nelson, head of the Department of Publications and Journalism. 15. Recommendation for leave of absence October 1, 1955 to September 1, 1956 without pay for Dr. F. M. Thrun, Associate Professor and Research Associate in Economics (now on part-time College basis only), effective October 1st. Mr. Thrun has been asked to accept a position with the Land Utilization Division, Resettlement Administration. 16. Request that Je C. Davis, Instructor in Economics, be placed on a part-time basis at a salary of 8100.00 per month (full salary $168.00 per month) effective October 1st', so that he may accept a temporary appointment with the NYA. Further, that Mr* H. E. Rice be appointed part-time instructor in Economics at a salary of &75.00 per month, effective October 1st, replacing Mr. Davis for the period of his federal appointment. The terms of this leave are not to extend beyond this college year, September 1, 1956. Request for maintenance expenses for Mr. Mevels Pearson to St. Louis, Missourij.Mr. Pearson 'will accompany- the Michigan Boys! 4-H Dairy Judging and Demonstration Teams to the National Dairy Show, October 12th to 18th. Expenses will:be charged to Extension funds. 6. Request that Mr. G. E. Taylor be allowed mileage expense and maintenance expenses for trips to Waterloo, Iowa for the Dairy Cattle Congress September 24th to October 2nd, and to St. Louis, Missouri, for the National Dairy Show October 11th to 18th. Mr. Taylor will take the members of the Dairy Cattle Judging Team with him. 7. Request from Dean Anthony that 820.00 be paid to each of the four members of the Dairy Cattle Judging Team to help defray their expenses to the above contests at Waterloo, Iowa and St* Louis, Missouri. Further, that $10.00 be .paid to each of the four members of the Dairy Products Judging Team towards their expenses in attending the-Rational Dairy Show at St. Louis, j Missouri. I 8. Request for mileage expense and maintenance costs for Mr. P. S. Lucas who will take the members : of the Dairy Products Judging Team to the National Dairy Show at St. Louis, Missouri, October 11th to 18th. 9.
