Resignation of Miss Marian Neidert, Instructor in Institution Administration, effective September 1, 1936. 2. Resignation of Mr. H# T. Walworth, Instructor in Chemical Engineering, effective September 1, 1936. Appointments 3. Appointment of Mrs. Lois S. Hays as Instructor in Institution Administration, replacing Miss Neidert, effective September 1st at a salary of $1500.00 per year plus board. Appointment is for 1935-37 only and is to be on an eleven monthsT basis. 4. Recommendation of Dean Emmons for the appointment of Mr. John C. Davis, Instructor in Economics, as Assistant to the Dean of Liberal Arts, effective September 1st at a salary of §2800.00 per year (increase of 8780.00 over Mr. Davisr 1935-36 salary). 5. Reappointment of Miss Veda Granger as Stenographer in the Department of Horticulture, effec tive September 20th at a salary of $75.00 per month (one-half from College, one-half from Experiment Station funds). This salary is set with the understanding that Miss Granger may take four credits of college work per tern if she desires. :10. Continuance of Mr* B. Me Kirk as half-time graduate assistant in Forestry during 1935-37. 11. Appointment of Mr. Bill M. Barton as half-time graduate assistant in Animal Husbandry during 1936-37. Hoffer from the Experiment Station from September 1, 1938 to December 31, 1935 in order that he may work with the Works Progress Administration. The portion of Dr. Hofferfs salary now paid from instruction funds (81900 per year) Is to be continued since he will be teaching his regular load. Request of Mr. Glen Stewart that he be allowed to make trips to Pittsburgh on October 10th, • Travel Milwaukee on October 24th, and. Boston on October 31st with the football team, for the purpose of organizing alumni meetings preceding games, expenses to be paid from Alumni Secretary funds. 2. Request for allowance of automobile mileage to Waterloo, Iowa, and maintenance expenses en- route for Professor G. E. Taylor, so that he may take members of the Dairy Cattle Judging Team to the Dairy Cattle Congress, September 22nd to 29th. Further, request for the same allowance to Dallas, Texas, for the National Dairy Show October 6th to 14th. 3. Request for allowance of railroad and pullman fare to New Orleans and return for Professors P. W. Fabian and W. L. Mallmann, so that they may attend American Public Health Association meetings October 20th to 23rd. 4. Recommendation that Dr. Ray Nelson be allowed full expenses to California and return, so that he may inspect celery seed producing areas. Entire expense wall be charged to the Celery Disease fund. On motion of Mr. Daane, seconded by Mr. Brody, it was voted to approve the travel requests. MSCELLAMEOUS 1. On July 1, 1936, on information that her dormitory responsibilities had ceased the salary of Miss Marian Neidert was reduced by $300.00 per year. Since she had completed the academic year's work at that time, it is recommended that she be paid this $25.00 per month for the period July 1st to August 31st, at which time her resignation becomes effective. Acceptance of funds for Hotel Ad ministration : scholarships Miss Neidert I to be paid lt'25.00 for i July & Au£. On motion of Mr. Brody, seconded by Mrs. Wilson, it was voted to approve the above recommendation. 3. Request from the Comptroller for an appropriation of #77.20 to be used to reimburse the U. S. Government for military property not returned by students and not entirely covered by deposit fees. Further, request for approval of payment of 8583.87 for government property lost but covered entirely by deposit fees retained. On motion of Mr. Berkey, seconded by Mr. Downing, it was voted to approve the above request. 4. Recommendation of the Comptroller that $200,000.00 of bank balances in revolving funds, etc., be used to recall Mary Mayo Hall bonds. Acceptance of Fellowship in Fish Nutrition offered, by the Institute for Fisheries Research for the period, from September 15, 1936 to June 15, 1937. The Fellowship carries a stipend of $50.00 per month and is to be payable twice monthly directly to the recipient by the Department of Conservation. The Fellow will be expected to devote one quarter time to research of applied nature under the direction of Dr. Louis "Wolf with the advice of the staff of the College. The balance of his time is to be spent toward fulfillment of the requirements of the College for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. 1 On motion of Mr* Daane, seconded by Mr. Brody, it was voted to accept the above-mentioned Fellowship, 11. Recommendation of the Committee on Honorary Degrees that an honorary degree of LL.D. be granted Mr. John Willy, editor of the Hotel Monthly, at a date to be determined by the President. Devine for hospital and doctors' bills totalling $211.00 due to a fall in the Engineering Building during Farmers* Week. This matter was deferred at the June 15th meeting of the Board. Mrs. Devine fallowed one- half of her claim. On motion of Mr. Daane, seconded by Mr.Berkey, it was voted to allow one-half of the above claim ¢105.50). The Secretary is instructed to secure a proper waiver-of any further claim aginst the College arising from this accident. 2. In 1926 the College purchased from the United States Government the old Weather Bureau and paid therefor $10,000 and received a deed for same which was recorded on the 18th of August 1926. As part of this transaction the State Board of Agriculture deeded to the United States Govern ment a like amount of land at the present location of the leather Bureau which deed was recorded. The minutes of the Sta^e Board of Agriculture do not show formal approval of this transaction and to clarify the records these transactions should be formally approved.
