Report of the Kellogg Foundation1s Interest in rural education. 19. Discussion of the conscientious objectors' camp for farm work. On motion of Mr. Brody, seconded by Mrs. Masselink, it was voted to authorize Dean Anthony to com plete negotiations for the establishment of a camp for conscientious objectors to be used at the College In accordance with the proposal as presented. 20. Report of the President on negotiations with the Armed Services covering training of men in uniform: Request approval for the taking over of the operation of all fraternities and men's cooperative houses by the College for the duration to be used for the housing of men in uniform or civilian students. Request approval for the purchase of such items as are necessary for housing or train ing Army groups for which we are to be eventually reimbursed; by the Armed Services. Report on leg at islative bills 22, The President reported on the present status of the appropriation bills in the legislature and indicated that a tentative budget including salary and wage adjustments would be pre sented for the consideration of the Board at the April meeting. The President discussed with the Board pending legislation in the Congress which contemplates the assignment to the Extension Service of certain responsibilities in connection with the handling of the farm labor situation. Dean Anthony and Mr. Ballard were invited to have •lunch with the Board to discuss this and other war-time problems confronting the county agents the Extension Service and the Agricultural Division. It Is recommended that Mr. A. B. .Love's salary fee increased from $3600.00 per year to $4000.00 per year effective April 1st and that he be assigned to work with the new labor responsibility assigned to the Extension Service^and that he be responsible through Mr. Ballard, County Agent Leader, to the Director of Extension and the Dean of Agriculture. y motion of Mr. Brody, seconded by Mr. Jakway, it was voted to approve the above recommendation. list given to Board members.
