The President presented the budget with a comprehensive statement of what is involved* It has been necessary, in order to balance the budget, to eliminate all increases in maintenance bud- gets and to cut out all .new projects that had been contemplated, including those in Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Research with the exception of a special item of $25,000.00 for the new project in cooperation with the Tourist and Resort Industry; and $9^000*00 for special fish research. The end of the war makes it essential that the college operate within its in- come and be prepared to handle the greatly expanded enrollment.
